Join us on Monday, September 27th at 7:00 PM at Resurrection Parish with a focus on the economic challenges we are facing in Sonoma County and/or on Monday, October 4 at 7:00 PM at Shomrei Torah when our focus will be the best interests of children in Sonoma County. Neighborhood Gatherings Bring Members Together

In May Alissa Hirschfield-Flores and Danny Flores hosted the first in a series of Neighborhood Gatherings. With the success of that gathering eight more were scheduled in July. From Petaluma to Sebastopol to every neighborhood in Santa Rosa, Shomrei Torah members met in homes to share delicious food and conversation. Hosts opened their homes and provided beverages and a comfortable place for members to get to know their Shomrei Torah neighbors. Some even included activities for children. It was an enjoyable afternoon for all.

Special thanks go to hosts and hostesses Alissa Hirschfield-Flores and Danny Flores, Mari Doxiadis, Lynn and Baer Rambach, Janine and Jules Bamberger, Lillian Mattimore & Bruce Smith, Anne & Eran Matalon, Judith Bernstein & Owen Shirwo, Ronnie & Jim Campagna, Adele Pickar, and Rose and Mervin Maier. Since these were so successful there may be more Neighborhood Gatherings planned for the future so if you missed out and are interested in attending or hosting a Neighborhood Gathering please let us know by emailing ssabrams@sbcglobal.net.

Congregational Trip to Israel

If you’ve ever thought about going to Israel, or are considering a return visit, don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to visit Israel in June 2011, accompanied by Rabbi George and professional tour guide Amir Orly, who expertly led last year’s congregational trip. The trip will be structured to meet the needs and interests of the individuals and families (age 13 and up) who sign up, and the itinerary will be of particular interest to first-time visitors to Israel, as well as to those who have visited before. “I guarantee you will be transformed by the trip,” says Rabbi George.

Congregation Shomrei Torah, Sonoma County's progressive Reform Jewish community,
welcomes congregants from Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Rohnert Park, Windsor,
Petaluma, Healdsburg, Kenwood, Graton, Glen Ellen, Guerneville,
Cotati, Geyserville and the North Bay region.
